Description

RockREMOTE is the DIN-rail mounted option in the RockREMOTE family, built for industrial cabinets, control panels, and fixed or semi-fixed remote systems.

It gives your equipment an IP path over Iridium Certus 100, with LTE available when terrestrial coverage is the better route. Use it for telemetry, remote access, SCADA-adjacent systems, gateway backhaul, and other installations where data still needs to move when the local network does not.

RockREMOTE supports Ethernet, Wi-Fi, RS232, RS485/RS422, and isolated GPIO, so it can sit alongside existing industrial equipment without forcing a full redesign. It also supports Iridium Messaging Transport, giving you a more efficient route for message-based payloads when a full IP session is not needed.

The onboard Linux compute module gives you room to host edge applications, protocol handling, data filtering, and local logic before anything is sent over the air. Supercapacitors support safe shutdown during power loss, and a dedicated hardware security module helps protect data in transit.

Choose RockREMOTE when you need satellite and cellular connectivity in a cabinet-friendly industrial terminal. Choose RockREMOTE Rugged when you need a sealed, externally mounted device for harsher outdoor installations.

Frequently Asked questions

RockREMOTE features two standard (2FF) SIM card slots (one satellite, one cellular). Airtime subscriptions and SIM activation must be configured separately within the Cloudloop platform prior to field deployment.

The hardware runs a Linux-based operating system that interfaces with host microcontrollers or existing industrial computers over TCP/IP Ethernet or standard serial links using programmatic edge APIs.

The device requires a passive omnidirectional Iridium Certus 100 antenna connected via a certified low-loss RF cable (such as LMR400, max 9m / 1.6dB max loss) terminated with a TNC male connector at the terminal end.

An omnidirectional Certus 100 Antenna and 9M LMR400 antenna connection cable is included with the purchase of a RockREMOTE
