Description

The 2J7426MPz is a passive external Iridium patch antenna for RockBLOCK and other compatible satellite IoT hardware.

 

Use it when your device is inside an enclosure, cabinet, vehicle, or piece of equipment, and the antenna needs to be mounted externally with a clear view of the sky. The integrated 1.8 m cable terminates in an SMA male connector, making it straightforward to connect to compatible boards and terminals.

 

The antenna can be mounted magnetically on suitable metal surfaces, or converted for adhesive mounting on non-metallic surfaces. Its polycarbonate and ASA housing is designed for outdoor use, with resistance to UV exposure and changing environmental conditions.

It is designed for direct connection to RockBLOCK 9602 and RockBLOCK 9603 models equipped with an SMA connector interface.

The antenna contains an internal magnetic plate suited for direct iron or steel vehicle surfaces. To mount it on non-magnetic enclosures like fiberglass or heavy plastics, an adhesive pad is secured directly over the magnetic face for structural attachment.

The integrated patch antenna on the RockBLOCK is sufficient if the module has an unshielded, direct view of the sky. If your system design requires placing the transceiver deep inside an industrial enclosure, underneath a metal barrier, or within a heavy structure, you must use this external antenna via the SMA connector to maintain network connectivity.
