Description

The External Iridium Helical Antenna is a passive magnet-mount antenna for RockBLOCK 9602 and 9603 devices that need the antenna placed outside the main enclosure.

 

It's tuned for the Iridium frequency band and connects via a built-in 1.5 m coaxial cable with SMA connector. Use it when the RockBLOCK board or host device is inside a box, cabinet, vehicle, or piece of equipment, and the antenna needs to be mounted somewhere with a clearer view of the sky.

 

The magnetic base makes it easy to attach to a suitable metal surface for development, testing, or field installation. The antenna is ground-plane independent, so it can also be used in setups where a conventional ground plane is not available.
