Description

RockBLOCK Plus is the field-ready version of RockBLOCK, built around the Iridium 9602 SBD transceiver and sealed for outdoor deployments.

 

Use it when you need low data satellite messaging from remote equipment, but don't want to design your own enclosure, antenna mounting, power conditioning, or external cabling. It's a good fit for data loggers, environmental sensors, buoys, field instruments, industrial assets, and other systems that need to send small payloads from places normal networks don't reach.

 

RockBLOCK Plus sends and receives Iridium Short Burst Data messages over a simple serial interface. It supports 340 byte mobile originated messages and 270 byte mobile terminated messages, making it best suited to compact telemetry, alerts, status updates, and commands.

 

The unit includes the modem, antenna, and power conditioning inside a sealed IP67 enclosure, with 9-30V DC input and RS-232 data. Choose RockBLOCK Plus when you want the proven SBD workflow of RockBLOCK in a package that is ready to mount outside.

Very. RockBLOCK Plus is a completely encapsulated design with a marine-grade kevlar cable, so it's at least IP67 (submersible for up to 30 minutes). Just don't expect it to send messages from underwater - all satellite devices need a clear view of the sky!

No. RockBLOCK Plus features an integrated antenna within the sealed enclosure. External antenna hardware is not required.

Airtime is purchased separately from the hardware.
